So, the Holidays are over and we can get back to what we do best, Hide out on the Farm.
There has been Frost on everything every morning for the past week or so. Not the hard Frost that can kill even the strongest of Trees, but the quick to burn off kind that can still wrinkle up the few Tomato plants outside of the Greenhouse. Some plants seem to thrive on the cold, like the Broccoli, it just keeps on growing and delivering Veggies.... We have learned though that Broccoli is just too big to plant in the smaller raised beds. Everything else in them is shadowed by the huge plants.
I have gotten the new Garden area finished. There is 4 rows of Lasagna style mounds about 4 feet wide and 20 feet long. There is now a Chicken wire fence around it buried over a foot deep hopefully to keep out the burrowing critters, and the bunnies too.
There is a dripper hose system on each mound that hopefully will keep things nice and wet over the hot dry season.... Jeanne is heading out there to plant some pole beans and peas, so I'd better get out there to help. More later..... Bob
