Well, I went out and bought 6 dozen night crawlers at Walmart and put them in the beds in the Greenhouse. They immediately burrowed out of sight... I hope they do their wormy thing and make the soil all happy..... The Cucumber plants have sprouted in their starter cups and we will transplant them at the base of the teepee of branches so they can grow up on them. The Pepper plants have peppers all over them already. The Tomato plants still have lots of blossoms but no sign of any fruit yet..... We even went in and shook the blossoms to pollinate them.
Jeanne has been collecting greens for her daily salad she makes for lunch at work.... There are several different kinds to choose from. The onions (from seed) are sprouting, and the Garlic are even sprouting already..... We should have several bags of onions and garlic hanging for use all next year. There are also scallions sprouting so Jeanne will be able to add those to her salads soon. The carrots are coming along, but one kind seems bitter, where the other kind are very tasty.... Perhaps the bitter kind are only good when cooked.... We'll see..... We don't see any more of those pesky Cutworms that were making holes in the lettuce and broccoli leaves since Jeanne sprayed them with diluted soap solution.... We bought some chemical to spray, but all the warnings on it make us hesitate to use it. If the soap solution works, we can stay Green...
Well, that's the latest. I hope you enjoyed the Pix of Banana in her sweater in the last blog.
